CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Blas Cap

CANON: Mad Max (Game)

CANON POINT: End of game where he's living in Jeet's lighthouse.

ARRIVAL TYPE: Accidental.

IC USERNAME: PowderCooker

HISTORY: Here's a photo of Blas.

Blas Cap comes from the Bullet Farm where he was a powder cooker making gunpowder and explosives. After the loss of his arm he was thrown into the pit where he was forced to be a digger harvesting minerals from the massive mining operation. At some point he simply left, walked out of the Bullet Farm and took his chances wandering around the desert. He states a few times that if he hadn't left he would have been dead by now with either kidney rot or yellow lung from breathing in sulfur in the mine all day.

While out in the Wastes he's captured by Thrall Rustlers (slavers) who recognize his worth and keep him caged while they try and sell him to the highest bidder. He's there for at least several months, getting emaciated and not receiving any medical attention for his amputated arm while the Thrall Rustlers try to sell him for as much as they can get.

Meanwhile Jeet who is the leader of a stronghold in the wastes that is trying to establish itself against Scrotus (Immortan Joe's son who leads an army of War Boys out of Gastown) and the War Boys, has a member of his army who is captured by Thrall Rustlers and learns of Blas' existence. When that person escapes and returns to Jeet, he tells the Warlord that there's a prisoner who knows the recipe to cook black powder. Jeet meets Max who he convinces to go rescue the Bullet Boy and bring him back to Jeet with the promise of keeping him in ammo forever.

Max finds the Thrall Rustlers location, discovers Blas Cap caged, injured and malnourished and brings him back to Jeet's Stronghold. (Actually he just lets him out of the cage and assumedly makes Blas Cap walk miles alone and barefoot across the dunes to a guy who hates War Boys and Bullet Boys while gushing blood from his amputated arm.)

Once back in Jeet's stronghold he cooks them all the gunpowder they want in return for food and water and not being kept in a cage. He's a pretty easy going guy, and doesn't seem to care that the rest of the people in the Stronghold hate him because he's a Bullet Boy. He also doesn't stop dressing like a Bullet Boy once he's technically on Jeet's side. It's vaguely implied that Jeet just wants the information of how to make the powder and doesn't actually want to keep Blas Cap as a prisoner, meaning he was most likely going to torture him for information and then kill him. But he doesn't. Blas is still in Jeet's lighthouse stronghold through the end of the game.

A few of his lines reference this, and later he has some about Jeet giving him trainees and being impressed with the explosives he made.

PERSONALITY:
Blas Cap is pretty passive, doesn't seem to mind being in a place where half the residents hate him and he's technically a prisoner. He's significantly more subdued than any of the War Boys we see in the movies or game, though it's hard to tell if this is because he's a Bullet Boy or because he's been a prisoner for so long. He was living in a cage for several months, while being barely fed and not allowed to move. The Thrall Rustlers are described as being cruel sadists so he'd have been tortured as well though he never mentions his time as their prisoner. He doesn't fight back against Jeet or Max at any point even though he has no real reason to trust them.

He left the Bullet Farm of his own free will, and ended up in a stronghold with a band of Wastelanders so he has a few social skills and can interact with people without fighting. More importantly he's the only person who willingly left the Bullet Farm/Citadel death cult. This is a big deal because both the War Boys and Bullet Boys are so incredibly indoctrinated into their cult the idea of one of them simply giving it up and leaving is downright revolutionary. He's smart enough to realize that he was going to die if he stayed there, and bitter about being demoted from a powder cooker to a miner. Leaving has a lot of repercussions for him, for instance that any of the other Bullet Boys would kill him on sight, but he did it anyway because it was what he felt was best for him.

However being in Jeet's stronghold has given him an entirely new life. Blas was born and raised into a life that was based on a hierarchy, where everyone had their place and orders weren't to be questioned. However after leaving the Bullet Farm and living in Jeet's stronghold he's been exposed to an entirely different way of life. Jeet's people have freedom and the ability to choose their own paths and likewise so does Blas. He acts completely different from the War Boys and Gastown inhabitants in the game, showing that he's changed a lot from when he was a Bullet Boy.

The main things Blas cares about are munitions and food. He's happy as long as he has something to eat and guns to play with. And while he's a genius at crafting guns, ammo and explosives, he's fairly inept at taking care of himself. He hangs out in Jeet's lighthouse without ever really tending to the festering abomination that is his wounded arm even though he seems to be in constant pain from it. He also walked out of the Bullet Farm into the middle of nowhere which basically assured him of dying slowly of dehydration. He would have been worked to death in the mine, but baking in the sun and wandering the wastes isn't that much better of an option.

Basically he's a laid back guy obsessed with guns and food who likes to watch things blow up.

INVENTORY: He has not one but 2 bullet belts, various pouches,a canteen, and pants. Everything he has on him in This screenshot which also shows how gross his arm is.
Inside all those pouches are bullets, gunpowder, little vials of sulfur, random gun parts, tools, bandages, a few scraps of food, miscellaneous bullet making items.

CHANGES: He doesn't have any powers so nothing here. But I wasn't sure where else to put this:

It's never mentioned in canon how he lost his arm and that is bound to come up in an RP setting. The Game vs Fury Road timeline is severely messed up where some of the game seems to take place after the movie (there's mention of the Immortan being dead, the People Eater isn't running Gastown) and then some of it seems to be before (the Interceptor is around, an NPC talks about the Bullet Farmer like he's still alive). To tie them together I've been headcanonning that he's this Bullet Boy who's on the Peacemaker with the Bullet Farmer in the movie.

Basically this just gives a point of reference for him losing his arm when the tank blows up. He still wouldn't know Nux or Slit or any of the wives (he would know who Furiosa is though). This guy doesn't have any lines or story in the movie (He spends all his screen time just standing there looking cool) so it would just be adding a canon point for losing his arm and no conflicting info with the Game.

I'm totally down to not do this and say he was on some random other car that exploded in game or something if that's too much headcanon!

Blas Cap sat on the metal-grate floor in the Lighthouse, a stone bowl between his feet as he ground some rocks into a yellowish powder with his one good hand. Jeet's people had gotten him plenty of supplies, it was just in its raw form which made the process of making black powder all the more difficult. With a grunt he stood up, putting the bowl on the table that served as his armory and flexing his fingers. Sitting on the ground and hunching over so that he could use the stump of his left arm to help turn the bowl as he mashed it with the pestle was a killer on his back.

Groaning he closed his eyes, working his fingers into his shoulder as he cracked his neck. Other members of the stronghold were all working, strengthening the lighthouse into a fortress. There was no idleness in the harshness of the Wasteland, especially under Jeet's rule. The Warlord did not tolerate anyone who couldn't pull their weight. Still, the man wasn't all bad, feeding a prisoner and keeping him healthy, making sure no one killed the Bullet Boy in his sleep. And he hadn't chained him up, for which Blas was thankful.

Heading to a different area by a series of catwalks he pulled open the door of the storage room, walking into it before he even noticed anything out of the ordinary. Instead of the normal ramshackle metal shelving with various rusty bits around, there was a wooden floor, with a rug on it, and a window at the far wall. He looked back at the door over his shoulder, but he couldn't resist stepping onto the rug, bare feet curling against the plush fabric. The door was still there, but Blas pushed forward into the room and another door beyond.

He should have been worried. Or at least a little concerned that a strange room had appeared in the keep. A room full of furnishings he didn't know the names of, wouldn't even be able to describe to Jeet later when he told him about this. Maybe he should go back. But he'd walked out of the Bullet Farm looking for something different. And this was definitely different. He pressed on towards the window staring out in incomprehension. There was greenstuff, gently waving in the breeze; trees, flowers, grass, things he'd only ever heard about. Things he never thought he'd see with his own eyes.

And on top of that something smelled amazing. Meat. A delicacy he hadn't had since he'd been a powder cooker at the Bullet Farm, and even then it was a rare treat for the elite of the strongpost. But he couldn't forget that smell. Survival was always at the forefront of his thoughts, and food was right up there at the very top of things he needed to keep on living.

He didn't even look back as he opened the door into the next room.
